Christian Panjaitan is an emerging Indonesian-Australian composer, pianist, and conductor currently completing a Bachelor of Music in Composition at the Queensland Conservatorium. A two-time recipient of Griffith University’s Brighter Futures Scholarship, he has collaborated with numerous established and emerging Brisbane-based ensembles and has had works performed across Oceania. Alongside his compositional work, he teaches piano at a local music school while continuing to refine his artistic practice.
As a performer, Christian joined BRYO and BRYJE as a pianist in 2025, later making his public conducting debut leading his own Christmas carol arrangement in November of that same year. As the 2026 Conductor-in-Training, he looks forward to further developing his podium technique while contributing to the orchestra’s musical activities throughout the year.
