Scherzo Strings

The Scherzo Strings, under the baton of Rachelle Lee is a training orchestra for young string players, presenting an opportunity to play publicly whilst learning within a supportive environment. Throughout the year, Scherzo players support the larger Symphony Orchestra, providing a taste of what’s to come when they ‘graduate’ into the Symphony Orchestra.

The Scherzo Strings have travelled to Sydney to perform and develop through workshops with some of Sydney’s prized youth orchestras. They have performed at Darling Harbour, and completed a workshop at the Sydney Conservatorium.

The Scherzo Strings has it’s own “Serenade” concert series where members of the ensemble have the chance to perform solo works as well as playing as the full ensemble in intimate performances to family and friends.
