Due to Covid-19, auditions for the 2021 Orchestra, Scherzo Strings and BRYJE this year will be via video submission.
PROCESS FOR AUDITIONS:
There are 3 steps to complete your submission.
Step 1. Book and pay for your audition.

Step 2. Download the excerpts for your instrument.
(Please see the audition excerpts for each ensemble and instrument below.)
For the audition, you will need to prepare:
- The audition excerpts for your instrument/ensemble
- A scale of choice that demonstrates your level
- A piece of music of your choice.
Step 3. Record your video and submit your virtual audition to our audition panel.

Scherzo Strings is a training orchestra and will take applicants from AMEB standard 2 or equivalent.
Minimum level required for symphony Orchestra is AMEB standard 4 or equivalent experience. Give it a go!
Minimum level required for BRYJE (Brisbane Regional Youth Jazz Ensemble) is AMEB standard 4 or equivalent experience.
Includes: Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophones, Percussion etc.
To audition for BRYJE you must also be a playing member of the Symphony Orchestra. Those wishing to apply for BRYJE must audition for both Symphony and BRYJE to be considered. (Simply include your BRYJE audition in the same submission as your Symphony audition, only one audition fee needs to be purchased).
